General Presenter Information
Registration: All presenters (including poster presenters) must register and pay a minimum of a one-day registration fee.
- All presenters are offered a reduced Presenter rate.
- A one-day rate is also available.
- Student speakers will register at the Student rate.
Proceedings Submission or Updates: We will notify accepted presenters in April and include instructions on how to submit a paper to the proceedings.
Audio-Visual Equipment: Speakers must provide their own laptops. Your session chair or moderator may choose to consolidate all presentations on a single laptop so you should also bring your presentation on a CD or USB flashcard.
All the concurrent sessions will be held in the Grand Sierra Resort. Rooms will be set theater style (without tables) unless SAF has received a specific request for another format. Attendees will not have a writing surface. All rooms will be equipped with a data projector, screen, microphones and a head table. Audio-visual assistance will be on-site to help troubleshoot interface problems.
Speaker Ready Room: All speakers are requested to check-in at the Speaker Ready Room in the Grand Sierra Resort.
The location and hours of operation will be listed in the on-site program. The room will have two data projectors available to test your laptop and review your presentation. A volunteer will be there to assist you.
Timely Presentations: It is essential for the flow of the program that all speakers keep to the time allocation.
Presentations are designed to run as 30-minutes back-to-back presentations, including time for speaker introduction and transition. A smooth transition is critical for a well-managed and productive convention.
In a panel presentation, the panel moderator will keep the sessions on a 30-minute schedule by allocating time for a short introduction of each speaker, followed by the presentation and an appropriate question and answer period. It is beneficial for all panel members, including moderators, to contact each other and discuss the content of your presentation, how your presentation interacts with the other panelists, and the exact time and length for your portion of the session.
Handouts: Presenters are responsible for creating, shipping, and distributing their own handouts.
Cancellations - If there is a change in your ability to present, please contact Terry Clark as soon as possible at (866) 897-8720, ext 123 or by e-mail at clarkt@safnet.org.
