Things to Do

North Lake Tahoe — Just west of Carson City and about 50 miles south of Reno is the breathtaking Lake Tahoe, the 12th deepest lake in the world. With its clear water and 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains it's an attraction most tourists won't miss.

WM Keck Museum — Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum has outstanding collections of minerals, ores, and fossil specimens and learn about Nevada's early mining history.

The Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden — Located inside of the Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno, the gardens are covered with groves of trees, wetland habitats, outdoor courtyards, and secluded gardens. The 12 acre center is open year round from sunrise to sunset and is free to the public.

The Reno Riverwalk District — Eat, drink, shop, and enjoy, as you stroll along the Riverwalk, Reno's urban renaissance. Here you can find restaurants and bars, shopping, entertainment, lodging and even a whitewater park!

Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center — This state of the art planetarium at University of Nevada, Reno is one of only a few in the world and serves about 44,000 visitors a year.

The National Automobile Museum — A fun and exciting place to visit in downtown Reno. From antique cars to classic, and even vintage, at this exhibit you will travel back through time in style.

Virginia City — Visit the real Wild West just 23 miles south of Reno. This historic city was once the center of wealth, politics and society in Nevada's early history. Today you can visit a wide variety of historical sites from mansions to railroads
